I ventured to my first American IKEA store recently, when I visited the Elizabeth NJ location a month ago. IKEA is one of my favourite places to shop for budget home items, which are surprisingly well made (much better than furniture and accessories from other budget stores). But you may not know that IKEA is also a great place to find farmhouse style pieces, and even vintage replicas!
A word of caution though, never fill entire spaces with IKEA purchases as this is a sure fire way to have things look cheap! The magic happens when you mix IKEA pieces in with the rest of your home décor. Trust me on this one.
If you are fortunate enough to live near an IKEA store, or have visited one in the past, you will know that it can turn into an all-day adventure. This particular shopping trip only took me two hours, much to my husband’s delight as a full day spent at IKEA is not his idea of a good time! If you don’t live near an IKEA store, shipping starts from as little as $9.00 so save yourself a day trip - order online and have it delivered to your door.
So without further ado, let me share with you some of my favourite farmhouse finds from IKEA. I’ve separated these into categories to help with where you might use them in your own home.
All prices listed are in USD.
As you can see, there's some great items to be found at IKEA. I hope you found something that would work for your home. I own quite a few of these pieces myself and can say, I love them all!
